The checkerboard pattern has been around for too long to be called a trend, it can be fun and/or sophisticated, style it your way and make it your own!
Landscapes of Pleasure and Pain collection
Each piece is hand-made and hand-painted by Kathleen Campone. The laborious task and repetitive action of painting each check bring them closer to their practice as a performance artist.
Note - the candelabra has a generous hole for candles, we used Makers Made candles, but did melt the bottom of them to make them stand upright in the larger hole.
About the Maker:
Kathleen Campone the maker behind Capitalism Is Disappearing is a queer and non-binary performance artist living on the unceded lands of the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin Nation. Their work crosses performance, choreography and ceramics. Live performance is the core of their practice; working with extended periods of duration, endurance/threshold and improvisation. They are currently exploring clay as a new medium and seek to integrate ceramics into their performance practice.
Capitalism Is Disappearing acknowledges the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which they have the privilege to live and create. They are committed to redistributing their wealth by donating 10% of each retail sale to Sisters Inside, @grassroots_ptr and other First Nations organisations.
