ABOUT THE MAKER

Neighbourhood Studio is a Melbourne-based creative studio founded by limestone sculptor Lucas Wearne. Wearne began his career working as a landscape architect and, like many curious, creative thinkers, also dabbled in alternative fields, including silversmithing and furniture making. Although he is comfortable working across various mediums, Wearne is most recognised for his sculptural works created in natural limestone. Drawing on his previous creative experiences, he now works predominantly in stone, Wearne’s experimental approach is process-driven and intuitive, centred around using his hands and body.
Due to the process of his sculpture work, each piece is unique and a one-off design. With a product offering including wall-art, lamps and lighting, decorative art, plinths and side tables, it is safe to say his creative offering is diverse and inspiring. We are pleased to stock Neighbourhood Studio at Makers' Mrkt
