Lucy is a ceramicist who works from her ceramic studio in Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand.
Her pieces are all handbuilt, unique and unrepeatable. She begins with rolling thin sheets of hand stained stoneware clay into a slab, then inlays and builds each piece before she whittles to reveal hidden layers.
Her process is heavily influenced by 17th century Agateware and Nerokomi along with forms of Brutalistarchitecture and mid century design.
Lucy studied Sculpture at Elam School of Fine Arts, and started working with clay as a means to engage fluidly between design and art.
